Basement Systems

“We are trying to be a green corporate citizen. We hope the technology will advance and bring the price down so everyone can afford it.”

Larry Janesky, President, Basement Systems

International basement waterproofing company Basement Systems, Inc., has been working hard to reduce its carbon footprint from inside its company headquarters to the products it sells. In summer of 2009, Basement Systems installed a 227kW solar electric (PV) system onto the roof of its warehouse to reduce its dependence on the electrical grid. The arrangement was made possible through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) backed by EOS Ventures, where a host site does not incur the capital cost of the system and enters into a contract to buy the power produced from the system. This system will offset nearly the entire electrical load of the building.
