Southern Vermont Recreational Ctr

“This will show that commercial applications can be done. The solar panels will chop between $15,000 to $20,000 off the swim center's heating bills.”

Rick Bibens, Building Committee Chairman, Southern Vermont Recreational Center

The Southern Vermont Recreation Center uses the power of the sun to heat the water for its pool. This solar thermal application was designed and installed by Alteris™ Renewables. The installation includes 69 solar panels on the roof of the center’s swimming facility which in turn supports a more traditional heating system. Besides being part of the trend toward renewable technologies – the recreation center saved over $15,000 on heating costs the 1st year. Over the life of the system the center will save 175,000 gallons of fuel.
