PV Thin Film /Thermal roof

“As an architect, my goal was to integrate solar energy and green materials in a way that would be easily reproducible for my clients. By using thin-film laminates over a thermal loop, Alteris™ Renewables provided us with a beautiful looking solar roof which appears to be a typical standing seam metal roof. My view is that a solar roof should be as commonplace and as well integrated as a standard solar calculator.”

Kate Johnson, Homeowner

As an architect, Kate Johnson was very concerned with the integration of the system into her home design. She wanted to show her clients that they could seamlessly integrate solar energy systems into the planning of their home. Kate chose UniSolar’s Thin Film Laminate to be installed on top of her standing seam roof to minimize the visual appearance of the solar electric system. Additionally, this system incorporates a Dawn Solar radiant tube-based solar thermal system underneath the standing seam roof to give her home both solar electric an solar thermal energy.
