Shaker Senior High School

“This is a wonderful learning opportunity for our students. The solar array and monitoring system allow our students to see, firsthand, the impact of this emerging technology.”

Randy Ehrenberg, Superintendent, North Colonie Schools

The 2kW solar electric system installed by Alteris™ Renewables at Shaker High School is sized for its suitability as an educational tool. The students are learning hands-on, how photovoltaics work. Such a system can meet about 25-30% of the energy needs of a typical home. The system includes a sophisticated, but teacher and student-friendly data collection and monitoring system.
